Some of the art on my 'drawing board'. I've got so many, I keep on stumbling across them :)

Silver or Platinum Dragon Sidhe - I keep thinking about Norse dragons, but his clothes and weaponry are more Asian. Will be interesting to see whether he stays one of the Dragon Sidhe boys, or becomes a standalone Elf.

Colour concept of Sophia (Gnostic goddess of wisdom). I've been looking at Byzantine costume but I dont really want that kind of architecture in the background ... hence the kind of nothingness happening around her. It will be a watercolour painting if I ever get around to it, but I'm quite partial to the digital play around version.

Byzantine, awesome! It's on my list of costumes to look at creating!

I'm by no means an expert on digital art, and there are so many ways of working. I started out with a mouse and Photoshop, but I would recommend trying a digital tablet/ stylus such as Wacom as they are more natural for 'drawing' with. You don't need a huge one (mine's 9 x 12" intuous, but I used a cheap 4 x 6" tablet for years without trouble). I tend to use photoshop and painter, flipping between them, but there are a number of cheaper or even free alternatives such as Gimp, ArtRage, Paintshop Pro. Some of the Wacom bundles come with Painter Essential, while photoshop elements comes free with many scanners and printers. These two products have a lot of the base controls of their more expensive cousins. Hope this helps!

Thanks! I'm thinking what I might do, once I finish my MA project, is sign up for an evening class and try my hands on this stuff before actually going out and investing in it. But I'll see if I can access any of the free stuff, and I'll look into more once I've gotten that started. Thank you again!
No worries :)
